Welcome to HALO
HALO (Help for Alternative Learning Online) is a support and
information website for faculty using or thinking about using
the online environment for some or all of their course materials
and activities.
The purpose of this site is:
- to help faculty new to the online environment get a sense of
the software that is available, what skills they need, and how to
re-think their course activities to make them into effective online
learning tools;
- to provide general information about online learning at ECC (policies,
procedures, and definitions);
- to provide useful tips and instructions for the use of ANGEL
and other software;
- to create a forum for faculty to share experiences, concerns, questions,
and ideas about teaching online;
- to suggest strategies for course design and structure to facilitate student
participation and success in their online coursework.
The HALO website will be regularly updated and revised as it evolves, so make sure you check
back to see what’s been added since your last visit!
